Palm Beach, QLD

Around 11:30am police were called to the Gold Coast Highway business after a man entered the business posing as a customer.

The man viewed a number of items from the store at which time he produced a handgun and demanded the stock.

The 50-year-old female store attendant struck the man with a metal object at which time he grabbed an item and fled the store.

He was seen to get into a silver hatchback and headed north along the Gold Coast Highway.

No one was injured during the robbery and no other customers or staff were in the store.

Investigations are continuing.
