Workshop Administrator - Underwood Jewellers

Underwood Jewellers is in its 51st year as a manufacturing and retail jeweller in Parramatta. The Workshop Administrator oversees our jewellery manufacturing workshop, working closely with our bench jewellers, administrators and suppliers as well as collaborating with the sales team.

Duties are varied and include ensuring the job workflow is running smoothly and on time, using our software system to process job componentry, maintaining open communication and ensuring a safe work environment. Valuation support, selecting and tracking gemstones, speaking with customers and working closely with others on execution of customer jobs is involved.

The role is for a full time position but job sharing will be considered. Ideally candidates will have experience in the jewellery industry in manufacturing and/or administration. Being trustworthy, organized, professional and considerate in manner as well as careful, efficient and detail-oriented are key skills and qualities. The Role
The primary responsibilities of this role include:

Your Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone with a “Can-Do” attitude who is passionate about working with fine jewellery and has a minimum of 8 years of experience in qualified bench manufacturing. Your suitability for this role will be assessed on demonstration of the following skills and capabilities:
  • Excellent attention to detail, an ability to work with precision and commitment to achieving perfection in hand-making fine bespoke jewellery
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, and a proven ability to use initiative to ensure deadlines are met without compromising the quality of a product
  • Jewellery design and drawing skills to present and communicate with clients
  • Setting skills are VERY desirable but not essential
  • Ability to liaise with CAD CAM designers and knowledge of the casting process (wax moulds etc)
  • Professional presentation and the ability to communication effectively with a diverse range of people
  • Proven capacity to work in a small, dynamic team and ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities
  • The ability to build and maintain positive workplace relationships based on respect and consideration

Jewellery CAD Operator and Designer (Casual) - Tivoli Jewellers

Tivoli Jewellers is a boutique store located at the iconic Royal Arcade. We have been selling high quality jewellery for over 18 years and we are now offering custom made jewellery.

We currently have a position become available for a Jewellery CAD Operator and Designer to join our Production team. The designer will be responsible for creating technical drawings according to customer and internal specifications. The files are printed using 3D printers and cast in the applicable resins. Therefore an understanding of shrinkage would be highly advantageous.

Running and maintaining 3D printers will also form part of the role.

Candidates must have a knowledge of computer-aided design and drafting tools including, as well as strong general knowledge of the principles and techniques used in design. Previous drawing skills within the jewellery industry would be highly advantageous but not critical to the role.

We welcome Jewellery CAD design students, 18 years of age or older.

Strong communication skills are essential, as regular consultation with employees from related fields, from jewellers to customers to get the technical details necessary to complete drawings and drafts.

The hours of work are between 11am to 4pm once during a week day. We are flexible on which day of the week. Occasional weekend may apply.

We will offer a supportive work environment as well as a chance to enter the market (first time job).
