In August 2011, Rio Tinto Diamonds launched its Global Design Competition for 2011, comprising of 4 categories, with 2 divisions in each category – the “Rising Stars” and the “Master Craftsman” levels.

Prominent JAA member Mondial by Nadia Neuman designed a unique jewellery piece, called “Tyger, Tyger” and entered this prestigious international award. She was delighted when in mid-November, amongst the list of winners was “Sustainable Jewelry Master Craftsman- Nadia Neuman, Australia”!

The submission for this category was a breathtaking and glamorous ladies fan, inspired by the themes of beauty and wild-spirit in nature.

To win a category of this global award, is an incredible achievement and further proof that Australian jewellery designers have got what it takes to compete and win on the world’s stage.

This amazing piece measuring approximately 12cm in length and 21cm in width when open and will be made from recycled and ethically obtained gold, diamonds and other materials. It will be unveiled along with the other winning designs in the ‘Red Carpet Celebrity Suite’ at the 2012 Oscars in L.A.
